Why You Need a Car Booster Seat

I wanted to talk to you about car booster seats and why you need one. I think the main reason that you should have one is obviously safety. A lot of governments (mainly State and Provincial) are requiring peope that have small children to use this type of seat. The main reason that it helps is that it boosts a child up high enough, so that a seat belt will properly support their body.

Safety

Basically like I mentioned above, it boosts the child up. If you think of a small child with a seat belt on it probably doesn’t fit right. It’s the shoulder strap that can be the worst actually because it literally will go across their neck. If you were to get in a car accident, you don’t want that to be on their neck.

This type of car seat has it’s own seat belt. When you get right down to it, even a car’s waist belt isn’t good enough. You need one that is specially designed for children, which comes with the seat. The point of having it properly designed is that if you were to get in a car accident it would put all the pressure directly on the strongest bones in the body. This is important because it is how you avoid injury.

Alternative to the Air Bag

It is important to understand that these booster seats are meant for the backseat. You never ever put them in the front because you’re faced with a new type of problem, which is the air bag. The amount of force that it requires to fill up these large air bags in a fraction of a second is a lot. A child cannot handle the force like an adult can. It will kill them, and that is an important safety concern.

You should recognize that NO SMALL CHILD should be in the front seat period. When you have them in the back with their booster, you’re giving them specially designed belts that will work best for their body.

Easy to Use

For the most part they are very easy to use. It’s not like you can complain about not having the time or whatever to set one up in the car. It just snaps in with the regular seat belt and holds the seat to the car.

When it comes to hooking up the child to the actual car booster seat, you just have some easy snaps you put in place and will hold them. They won’t have the ability to take them off on their own, so you shouldn’t have to worry about that.
